OLPH Athletics

"Oh St. Sebastian, we ask for your guidance and intercession in granting us the strength, integrity, and courage to overcome the obstacles and challenges before us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”

-Prayer to St. Sebastian, Martyr and Patron Saint of Athletes

OLPH SAINTs work toward excellence in academics and in extracurriculars. We encourage our students to be active participants in their future, meaning if they have a dream, they must devise a plan for how to pursue it. Our students strive to stay mentally and physically strong to be good role models on and off the court. Time management, focus, communication, and perseverance are just a few of the important skills practiced with our student athletes.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School's sports program for Grades 3-8 is designed to:

  1. develop basic motor skills through organized play

  2. foster an understanding of rules and regulations, fair play, and sportsmanship

  3. provide an appreciation of the need for participation, cooperation, and teamwork

  4. encourage self-awareness, physical development, and self-esteem.

OLPH's sports teams compete against other parochial teams from throughout San Francisco as part of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) League.
